Whisky Stain

Whisky Stain

Whisky Stain are a two-piece Rock band from London and Nottingham formed in 2011. Their music ranges from bass driven dance influenced stompers through to blues drenched guitar based thrillers. The duo are known predominantly for their huge sound on stage and catchy vocal melodies.

Rob (Guitar/Vocals) came of age in an old mining town in Derbyshire. Making use of his youth he learnt to play a few notes on a guitar and began writing songs. Luke (Drums) only ever really needed to learn one thing from his father while growing up: ‘You might not be the best drummer in the room, but just make sure you’re the loudest’.

Whisky Stain have produced two singles to date and have a further 6 recordings down on tape being processed for release. Soon to be announced will be the singles New Cocaine & The Lord’s Revolver, followed by their debut EP Crawley Road.

“If Jack Daniels made music it would probably sound something like Whisky Stain. ..and that is fucking cool.” – Laura Shaw – Laura Shaw

“As we walk in Whisky Stain are playing… who crank out a rather splendid brand of grungy, bluesy Americana which goes down a storm with the crowd” – Bearded Theory Festival

94 Gunships

94 Gunships

“The gruffest blues to fall this side of the Trent” – Wire & Wool

“Some of the coolest shantys and ditties to emerge from a Notts band for a while. Lovely stuff ” – Farmyard Records

“What a band, what a band, what a band, what a mighty good band! 94 Gunships have taken Nottingham by storm over the last six months and sweet Joni Mitchell what a storm it has been! Houses have been flooded and new holes have been created to be filled in again! 94 Gunships will fill that hole in your heart with music co-written by the bands two front men! An opportunity to see a great new band who will most likely boom over the next year or so. Lyrics so catchy you will become a lyric-knowing fan geek after one performance! Come and see 94 Gunships and I promise you will enjoy it.” – Bradley Rice, Ambiance, Jam Cafe, Top 50 Lads

“we still don’t know why there’s 94 Gunships and not 11 or 45 but it doesn’t matter because they are so good that there’s never going to be enough raving about them from us. Honestly one of the best bands in Nottingham right now, every single person in the room seemed to know the words to Dig A Hole and had a right good foot stomp throughout the whole of the boys set; it basically sounds like whiskey tastes.” – Kimberly Winter, Under The Tree Promotions

Ryan “Thomas” Farmer

Ryan Thomas

Ryan Thomas is a 21 year old singer-songwriter hailing from Nottingham, UK. His combination of blues, country and folk have marked him as one of the Midlands rising stars with influences from Robert Johnson, Seasick Steve and Johnny Cash. Having recently signed to Wire & Wool Records (I’m Not From London), Ryan’s first record ‘Worries & Troubles’ debuted at No.1 on the iTunes Blues Chart.

2013 saw regular BBC Introducing airplay for Ryan as well as slots at some of the Midlands most prestigious venues working with major promoters in venues such as Rescue Rooms and Glee Club. Ryan made appearances at Dot To Dot Festival, The Big Shake Out and Splendour 2013 as well as being pitted as ‘One To Watch’ by Left Lion Magazine.

“The sound of Bluesy folk artist Ryan Thomas will blow you away. His Seasick Steve like vocals coupled with the sound of his bling resonator guitar is a catch. A born performer, Ryan Thomas’ performance is spellbinding.”

“In fact, if it’s modern blues you’re looking for, you can’t go far wrong with this record. Chuck it on while you’re having a bottle of beer and a cigarette, then listen to it again when your head’s pounding the next morning.”
